Date fruits (Debino)

The first thing that hit me when I took my first bite of debino was the very sweet taste. They say there's nothing sweeter than honey but whoever came up with that saying i'm sure never ate debino. If you've ever been to Northern Nigeria, you'll find debino in every corner of every street and market place. However, most people consume this fruit without knowing how much good they are doing to themselves by doing so.

a) As a result of the high sugar content, debino is a good source of energy.
b) For people trying to loose weight or prevent unhealthy snacking, debino is a very healthy option.
c) If you are a sexually active individual or not so enthusiastic about sex, you should really consider eating lots of debino as it increases libido/sexual performance...lol
d) Debino has vitamins and minerals that is good for the skin and hair.
e) The manganese content in debino is good for muscle and bone development.
f) Consumption of dates helps in the prevention of abdominal cancer.
g) People who eat a lot of debino tend to avoid over-eating.
h) Debino helps in the reduction of allergies.
f) It's high potassium content helps in the prevention of stroke and other heart related conditions.

(Debino and coconut; a great combination ;))

The nutritional benefits of date fruits (debino) are very extensive. Do yourself a favour and eat it anytime you find it.
Another interesting thing about this fruit is that it can be eaten in various ways, it can be combined with milk, yoghurt, used in soaking garri or eaten with coconut (the best combo ever). Personally, I advice you combine debino and coconut, you'll thank me later I promise you!
